Should we be worried that by August 2018, the U.S. stock market achieved the longest bull run15 in American history? Will fears of a downward forecast in consumer-driven laser markets continue to pummel stock prices? Does a bull run have to be followed by a bear market? Or concerning laser sales in 2019, should we embrace the phrase—commonly attributed to Isaac Newton as he pondered gravity—that “what goes up must come down”?

The rheological properties, including frequency sweep (A) and yield stress (B) of block copolymer assemblies, are highly dependent on the ratio of diblock to triblock copolymers. At high diblock concentrations, the material demonstrates rheological properties associated with a liquid, including a crossover in the shear modulus at high frequencies and no determinable yield stress. At high triblock concentrations, the material shows rheological properties associated with an irreversibly cross-linked gel, including separated elastic and viscous shear modulus at high values and irrecoverable yielding at high stresses. Block copolymer blends show rheological properties favorable for 3D printing of soft materials, including separated elastic and viscous shear moduli with low elastic modulus, a low yield stress, and a fast recovery of elasticity after shearing. Prahlad Singh, who becomes PerkinElmer’s new president and CEO on January 1, 2019,87 will likely work at increasing the synergy between the company’s DAS and Diagnostics divisions.

On the other hand, once the main risk factors are identified, pollution may prove easier to curb indoors than out, precisely because the space is more confined. It’s taken nearly fifty years for the United States to successfully reduce outdoor ozone and particulate concentrations, whereas much of the particulate matter from cooking can probably be removed by measures as simple as investing in a decent exhaust hood and replacing its filter frequently. John Balmes already has data suggesting that running an exhaust hood while cooking correlates with a steep reduction both in household particulate levels and in childhood asthma attacks. Benjamin Franklin’s advice to open the window is worth following, too, particularly when mopping or making toast—provided, of course, that the air outside is clean.

If someone rich and powerful wants a prosecution, they can say “Jump!” and the DOJ will ask, “How high?”
